Nine Members Of Afghan Military Killed In Helicopter Crash


Nine members of the Afghan security forces, including special forces personnel, were killed in a helicopter crash in central Afghanistan, the Afghan Defense Ministry said.

The crash took place late on March 17 in Maidan Wardak Province, the ministry said in a statement quoted by Reuters on March 18.

The Defense Ministry is investigating, the statement said.

An Air Force source and a provincial official told Reuters that the helicopter was hit by a rocket while taking off.
